Boehner Says Election Losses Won’t Deter Push for Smaller Government
Speaker John A. Boehner suggested Thursday that candidates and personalities – not Republican proposals on Medicare and spending cuts – contributed to Republican losses in November, as he vowed to press forward with a House budget plan that renews the push to shrink the government.
Sadly, there's no report of Ryan tearfully thanking his leader for explaining things so succinctly, though I'm sure that's happened or will happen very soon.
Mitt Romney, I predict, will also feel vindicated by the Speaker's incisive analysis of his own unique unattractiveness - and that of his wife and his entire family, one might add. He must be thinking "I never guessed you people would allow yourself to allow the disgust you feel, that same disgust I assure you I feel looking in the mirror every morning or especially looking around the table at meals, to overcome your deep attraction to our policies."
Thank you, John Boehner. No doubt you are half-right.
