Finally today, you've done away with the 'via=' clause in the URL for diaries (posts).
For anyone who hasn't noticed, and for those who have noticed and been puzzled, for the past year since the release of DK4, the URL for a diary was associated with code that identified the URL's location, i.e., 'via=recent' was added in the Recent Diaries list, 'via=recommended' in the Rec List, etc., so that the browser was unable to recognize that one had already opened a diary from another list - as was the case in previous versions of DailyKos - and 'dim' the diary title in the list (as a 'visited' page).
For a year, then, I have experienced the tiny aggravation of reviewing the Rec List and opening a diary that looked interesting, then encountering the same diary an hour later in the Recent Diaries list and opening it again, thinking I had not looked at it yet. I have once or twice thought of registering a complaint about this but I haven't done so; perhaps others have?
If you folks 'behind the scenes' have ever felt nobody knows your good (and not-so-good) work ... we do!
Thank you!
