According to the NY Times, spanking new, untested and untried* Dodger Manager Donny Baseball states blandly - and has he ever done anything any other way? - that his two major influences are:
John Wooden
and
Bobby Knight
Congratulations, Los Angeles, because you are going to be living in interesting times this season!
_______
* Okay, once-tried-and-found-wanting, if you must get technical
Noting the above, one must be curious about which other dynamic duos Donny could be modeling himself on?
How about Bear Bryant and Phil Jackson?
Or, more appropriately from baseball, Bobby Cox and Billy Martin?
Or, from music, wouldn't you like to see a meld of Bobby Darin and Sid Vicious?
Listen: Donny is going to need a lot of help to keep from going down in flames with a team that has no pitching, little hitting, and may at some point in the season be unable to meet payroll.
Does anybody have any thoughts on other pairs of paragons Donny can model himself after?
